Flourish tots parent to parent support for parents of 2020/21 babies

Come along and let your little one meet other similar ages babies! Sit back and have a cuppa and chat with other parents who have had a baby in the past year. 2 sessions from 1030-1130am on Friday mornings with a peer supporter at Early Nourishment.

  • March – June 2020 babies 21 & 28 May
  • July – September 2020 babies 11 & 18 June
  • October – December 2020 babies 25 June & 2 July
  • January – March 2021 babies 9 & 16 July

Spaces are limited due to social distancing so please only book if you think you are able to attend both sessions (i.e. have no appointments or plans). Please book one space for you & your baby.

Why are you running these sessions?

Over the past year parents have told us how much they feel they have missed out on. One point which has occured again and again is how they have struggled to make new friends with similar aged babies. We have heard that this has left new parents feeling more lonely than ever and they have struggled to know what is ‘normal’ with very few people to ask. The report Babies in lockdown highlights some of the effects of the pandemic on new parents. As a CIC serving the parenting community of North Devon & Torridge, we want to try and minimise some of the impact of the pandemic. Peer support is at the heart of everything we offer and these sessions should help you to meet your peers.

Where will Flourish tots take place?

View from Burcher’s Row

This course will take place at Early Nourishment CIC, Ground Floor, Church House, Church Walk, Barnstaple EX31 1DE. Walk up Butchers Row from Cafe Nero, turn into the Church Yard on the right & you will see our hanging sign (pictured). Go through the door & our door will be propped open on the right. We will greet you & show you where to put your buggy & where to sit. There is also a QR code to check in on the NHS track & trace app.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Masks are required when entering or moving around the building but can be removed once seated.

How are you keeping people safe?

Before/after each session we:

  • Hoover & steam floors
  • Wipe down used furniture and frequent touch points
  • Clean loos
  • Soak used toys in milton
  • Dishwash all mugs at 60 degrees C
  • Keep the door & kitchen vent open as much as possible but a minimum of half an hour before/after each session.

We are also asking people not to attend if they have had a new continuous cough, a fever or loss/change of taste/smell in the last 10 days unless they feel better AND have had a negative COVID-19 test.
